About Bill Byrne And The Byrne Notice
I started The Byrne Notice primarily as an outlet to help inspire others who may be struggling in their career or personal life.
Quick Strike videos are quick one-off's on anything from marketing to my rants wishing people were nicer to each other!
Crafted Commentary... well, that's my excuse to get friends together to try new beer and talk.
My professional career has been primarily in the world of media relations (what most call public relations, or PR) and social media for the better part of 20 years.
Having worked with some of the biggest PR firms in the world, as well as mid-sized ones and in-house at start-ups, I've been a part of teams representing a really diverse range of brands in finance, tech, B2B and consumer goods. Some that most people would be familiar with include Intel, Burton Snowboards, Duracell, Old Spice, LG Electronics and Timberland.
I'm currently a director at Remedy Communications, a PR and social media firm I co-founded from necessity here in San Diego. We works with a range of brands in the outdoor industry, financial world, tech and consumer spaces.
If you want to know about me personally, I'm married and the proud parent of an Australian Shepherd / Terrier mix named Ollie, as well as two Maine Coon cats known as Jimmy and Benny Tudino to their friends. If you're ever spent a significant amount of time in Hoboken, New Jersey, you'll know where Ben's name comes from.
I was born in the Bronx and grew up on Long Island. After attending college in Upstate NY at Ithaca College, I worked in Manhattan for about 10 years before relocating to San Diego for what was supposed to be a 2-3 year move. Ten+ years later, it seems to be permanent ;-).
I come from what I would consider to be a middle-class background to parents who worked their butt's off to give me and my sister things they never had. My life hasn't been without personal struggle, but there are many less fortunate than me. More on that during the podcasts!
Outside of the office and helping others here, I really enjoy snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, spending time in the gym (something very outside my comfort zone), being outside with my wife, exploring new breweries and the occasional beach volleyball game.
